Aliens on Earth? Talk about a business opportunity. Moon Pie’s Alien Acquisition campaign tapped alien experts to learn more about our target audience. We then used those learnings to create a series of intergalactic OOH ads in places aliens are known to frequent.
THE INTERGALACTIC COPYWRITING PROCESS:
We created these out of home boards using lincos, a language designed to be understood by any possible intelligent extraterrestrial life form. It also conveniently happens to have the words “moon” and “pie” as part of its very limited vocabulary.
Combining this mathematical language with a bit of binary code, we were able to create the first ever advertisements to aliens.
